Waypoint isn’t released yet. The app will be one-time payment only, no subscriptions.

Free to try out

Download the app and try out all features. Both iCloud sync and Project Notebooks work and no features will be blocked to you. There’s only a limit to the number of notes you can create so that you can see if the app is right for you:

• Personal Notebook — up to 100 notes
• Project Notebook — up to 20 notes each

At the cap you can still edit everything you’ve written; you just can’t add more. Notebooks shared with you that have more notes than the cap will be opened in Read-Only Mode.

Paid

A one-time payment removes the note count cap.

You’re not locked in

Reading is never gated. I think it would be horrible if you couldn’t read your notes later. Whatever you’ve written stays open to you in the app, paid or not. Project Notebooks are just folders of markdown files and file attachments, so you can always read them without the app.

Your Personal Notebook also exports to a Project Notebook whenever you like, so you always have that option to get your data out. (Your Personal Notebook is stored in your personal iCloud storage using Apple’s own Core Data with CloudKit technology.)
